Dog Friendly Places in CLE: Alley Cat Oyster Bar

Alley Cat Oyster Bar (website here) is a refreshing taste in the Flats East Bank. Alley Cat has two levels of dining both inside and outside with a full bar. It has great views right along the Cuyahoga River. They are open Monday-Thursday from 11:30am-10pm, Friday-Saturday from 11:30am-11:30pm, and Sunday from 11:30am-8pm. They have happy hour specials from 3-6pm daily. The ingredients for all of the food is very fresh and doesn’t make you feel like you are eating anything terribly unhealthy. You can view their menu here.

We visited Alley Cat Oyster Bar on Labor Day after watching the Blue Angels at the Cleveland Air Show. It was an hour wait, so we walked Bella to the Downtown Cleveland Dog Park to play for a bit. They take your phone number to let you know when your table is ready. We sat out on the patio since the patio is dog friendly. We weren’t offered water for the dog, but I brought my own bowl and poured my glass of water in it. They serve us bread with olive oil to dip it in. We went during their happy hour so we got popcorn shrimp and Latin loaded fries, which were $7 each. The Latin loaded fries were such a pleasant surprise. You would think greasy fries with lots of cheese but these fries were on the healthy side with lots of fresh diced tomatoes, diced green peppers, onion, shaved cheese, herbs, and shredded beef. The popcorn shrimp came in a bowl with veggie noodles and sauce. Bella received much attention on the patio with a neighboring table giving her ice. Some people didn’t realize dogs were allowed there. Alley Cat is nice place and something different to try with your dog than your typical bar/restaurant.
